Welcome to Red Rock Lalibela Hotel

Red Rock Lalibela Hotel, is a family-run, mid-range hotel located conveniently close to the world-famous rock-hewn churches included in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites. You can reach the ticket office and the first group of churches in less than 10 minutes by foot. We are a fairly small hotel with 14 rooms, but we have a cafe and restaurant, so you will have all the services close at hand. You can enjoy traditional coffee ceremony right at the hotel as well as Ethiopian and Western meals throughout the day and evening.

We can also arrange a guide for you as well as tours in and around Lalibela. Just let us know when you are coming and we’ll send a guide to meet you at the airport or bus station, and a shuttle bus to pick you from the airport.

We have rooms with balcony and a stunning view to the Lalibela valley and mountains beyond. We also have some budget rooms, if you are on a tighter budget. All our rooms have good beds with clean sheets and en-suite bathrooms with hot water.

Lalibela is easy to reach. There are many daily flights, and the main roads are in good condition. You can experience the Lalibela highlights in one or two days, but, if you have the opportunity to stay longer, you can  spend four or five unforgettable days exploring the sights and life in and around Lalibela.
