Welcome to German Embassy School Addis Ababa (DBSAA)

The German Embassy School Addis Ababa (DBSAA) is one of 140 accredited German schools abroad, which have been established by the Federal Republic of Germany in collaboration with a local school association in order to promote German language and culture around the world.

Mission Statement

Our vision: To prepare our students for their life after school as well as the challenges of vocational training, university education and a professional career. This takes place in close collaboration with our parents and in a holistic manner. As a German School in Ethiopia, we teach German culture and history while facilitating especially their intercultural competencies.

Education: Our curriculum offers a high academic standard. Our teachers are educational and instructional experts. Our students are in the center of our educational process.

Competence Orientation: Our curriculum teaches subject as well as key competencies

Personality development: We educate our students to be responsible, social competent, creative and independent individuals. Our students share responsibility for their success.  

Internationality: Internationality and multilingualism are important characteristics as well as content of our curriculum. We teach our students German culture and history while offering various learning experiences in Ethiopia

School life: Our students participate in a diverse school life. Parents and teachers share responsibility for the education of our children

School development: The school association, school management, parents, students and teachers constantly work together to further develop the school

Environment and Sustainability: We teach our students responsibility for nature and the environment and create an awareness for ecology and sustainability
